Installation Instructions
The recommended stack-up for the Overdrive Clutch is four (.070” / 1.77mm) friction plates, four (.080” / 2.0 mm) steel plates and the (.192” / 4.87mm) top backing pressure plate. Start the stack up with an Alto Steel Plate and alternate with an Alto Friction Plate until all four frictions and steels are used.
NOTE: The stack-up of the Overdrive Clutch is the same method as OE.
The overdrive clutch pack clearance should be set at .022” - .047” (0.55mm – 1.20mm). Measure by using a feeler gauge between the top pressure plate and the snap ring. NOTE: Always pre-soak friction elements for at least 15-20 minutes in manufacturer recommended ATF prior to assembling the clutch pack.
